These days were so fun. Some of the best I’ve had so far. My friends and classmates and what not, cherish the moments you have with people outside of your family.

OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS!!!! These past few days have been simply crazy. We went rafting on the Trinity River and it was suuuuppper cold. We’re also at new cabins with electricity and showers; they are incredible. Today we went on a hike and I jumped off of a big rock into the freezing river. It was AMAZING!!!! I’ve had a lot of fun, but I am very ready to come home. Class of 2011 Forever!!!!

wow the past two days were so much fun!! We went to the Trinity river and went rafting! It was CRAZY!!! Today kinda sucked I couldn’t go on the last hike because I got stung in the foot by a yellow jacket that has been living in my sock. So I stayed in camp and finished my book…but it was nice so it didn’t really matter.

I’m having trouble putting what I’m feeling into words. We are deciding what song to sing at graduation and taking photos of each other. Matt is reading this. My class is funny! Its sad but to think that we won’t be smiling together more much longer. But we are all moving along to something good in high school. I think I will cry a lot in the next two weeks.
~Talia
This trip has no words to describe it…it has just been an amazing trip! To be with all these for about a week made we realize how we have grown to know each other how much we have changed in so many ways. It’s sad to think that this is over because I have made so many great friends and memories ☺! And this trip will be one I will remember forever and take with me. Also, to admit I also really don’t want to write things like this because I really don’t want to realize that my 3 years with all my friends is over. I will miss them all and all the teachers that were apart of my year as well. GOOD LUCK THE CLASS OF 2011!! Hope that High School will bring so many more memories for everyone and that one day we can all reunite as one like this moment right here.

Hi it’s Ruby again. Yesterday we went for a hike and we got to swim. We were going to swim at this one beautiful spot, but then the current was too strong so we went to another spot that was also amazing. The water was freezing cold but most of us got in and it felt really good. I jumped off the higher rocks and had a lot of fun. I was really cold for a little while, but it was okay because it was so much fun and I got to come back to my cabin and take a warm shower.
~Ruby
Yesterday we went swimming in a river that was super freezing. I dried off quickly though so I was okay and ran about a mile and a half back to the trailhead. I’ve been waking up really early (5:45 ish) to go running in the morning and it’s so beautiful that sometimes I stop running by accident and just stare.
~Ethan
Yesterday we went rafting and it was a blast. Our boat attacked all the other boats and destroyed them. We did great until james turned on us and started throwing us in.
~Octave
It’s your boy Gio again. I am still alive (thank god) after all the hikes and times in the cold water. I am having a fun time here. My cabin-mates, buddies, people, whatever you want to call them are Ari and Alex. My time here is almost over. I am getting super hyphy and want to get home to SF.
~Gio
Today was very fun! We went to some place and planted plants in the sun. Than we went swimming and on a hike. I’m starting to realize the trips almost over though. ☹

Well, nothing is too new, but it has been a fantastic day for surprises. We were exploring for a good water spot for swimming, and I actually swam in water that seemed almost below freezing. It was amazing, and it took us a pretty long time to find the almost perfect spot. As for other ideas, Pearl and I kept double-jinxing each other and we tried to communicate with others to try to get them to say our names. I can’t believe it’s almost over, and I feel as if I don’t want to leave yet!
~Joanie
Today was one of the best days ever in the coldest water ever. AMAZING! We bathed in the Trinity River and it was super awesome. I am so sad that I am finally letting go of this class, I wish I could spend more time everybody, because even though I might not be friends with everybody here, I will still miss everybody here.
-Alejo
Today was one of the best days of the trip, aside from rafting of course! We hiked to the river and went swimming. The water was really cold, but we still had a great time. The showers although the water is either ridiculously freezing or burning hot are most def some of the best ever!

I was pretty excited to get away from the city for a while, but soon learned how much I can’t properly function without it. Music was the main issue, because I have such a different taste in music. Also I can’t swim and a lot of the activities involved deep water. I was scared, but I managed to become a great rower

Highlights from the road through 05/18/11
Hi it’s Clio,
I’m writing at 7AM from our deck. It’s really cold but our sleeping bags are warm. We have a kitchen, and fry water (no pots or kettles) every morning for tea. It’s a really nice cabin but we don’t get much sleep!

Hi it’s Ruby,
Yesterday we went rafting and it was a lot of fun. Our boat was the best because we had Octave and both the water guns (Clio disagrees). We got everyone soaked but that meant they got us soaked too. At the end of the trip I jumped off a giant rock into the river. James attacked Octave and we had a big water fight on our boat. It was hilarious even when I got hurt trying to save Nico. It was all good, though, because I got to come back to my cabin and take a warm shower.
~Ruby
Hey there! It’s Isabel, reporting from the deck of our beautiful cabin with actual electricity and our very own shower! Heaven! I’m also drinking nice warm tea which we made in our very own cabin in a frying pan. However, we’ve learned the hard way not to use the oven if we don’t want to have the fire alarm go off in the middle of the night, and have to run to Todd’s cabin banging on the door, only to have him ignore us thinking that we were being attacked by the boys and that we deserved it.

Hi everyone!
Yesterday we went rafting along the Trinity River. It was AMAZING!!! I think that if I had the option of rafting again, there would be no hesitation within my answer; a definite yes. However, the car ride that we experienced from Mendocino to the Trinity Alps was not appeasing. The eighth grade trip has been amazing so far and don’t want to leave tomorrow, but I’ll be happy to be back in my own comfy house.

Hello, its Carlo. We’re having a lot of fun out at the Trinity Alps resort. We have done a series of exciting activities, such as our extremely dangerous, and adrenaline filled rafting trip yesterday. All of us got wet and practically froze to death, due to the rapids, the growing competition and rivalries between rafts and a science teacher named Todd who splashed everyone, even the people on his own team. Though there were many feuds and arguments in the water, it was all in good fun. After the trip, I front flipped off a large cliff into the freezing water. It hurt and the bruises on my back can explain the rest. After that, I’m pretty sure numerous 8th graders took showers. Then for the rest of the day, I played ping-pong, and walked around playing the guitar. Shoutout to our hosts at the Trinity Alps Resort for being so gracious to make such delicious food. It’s been a fun week so far, and I am sad to see it end. I hope all the current 8th graders have had as much fun as I have seeing these moments as the last couple of moments we will all spend together as a class. I will remember these days forever.
